From the east: Take I-30 west to Sulphur Springs, then turn left and travel south on Hwy 19 to Emory. In Emory, turn right and drive 2 blocks west on Hwy 69. Then turn left off Hwy 69 onto FM 276. Drive 7 miles on FM 276 to FM 47. Turn left and drive south 2 miles on FM 47 to the preserve entrance on the right.

From the north: Follow Hwy 69 to Point. Take FM 47 south. Follow the signs to Thousand Trails.

From I-20: Proceed on I-20 to FM 47, and exit to Wills Point. Proceed north on FM 47 and follow the signs to Thousand Trails.

Campsites: 251 full hookups, 68 power and water only, overflow sites. Rentals: 2 cabins

Preserve Description
Nestled along 6 miles of shoreline amid 480 acres of thick, oak tree covered terrain, this preserve offers breathtaking views along with some of the best fishing and birdwatching around. You can spend the day on the lakefront ... water skiing, sailing, swimming and fishing (crappie, catfish and bass). Or, explore the nearby town of Canton, home of the world's largest flea market.

**Park will have weekend access only beginning October 18th. Check-in will start at noon on Fridays.

Thank you for your interest in beautiful Lake Tawakoni, we hope you enjoy your stay. While you are here, we hope you take the time to walk our nature trail, or go fishing on one of our several piers ... fishing this year has been wonderful. The fish being caught can weigh up to 70 pounds each.

If you are not up for the outdoors, visit Canton's First Monday Trade Days - a flea market occurring the weekend of the first monday of every month. May you find good fortune in all of your travels and we look forward to seeing you soon!
